While much has been written about the need for creating a pipeline of women into the field of technology, many stories focus on hiring practices and statistics.  I want to broaden this conversation by giving context to these numbers.  By featuring stories of women who are actively forging new paths in the field, my goal in writing the “Women Execs in Tech” Series on FORBES.COM is to help organizations gain insight into the unique challenges of women in the tech industry and to empower other women to take on leadership roles in the field.
